Lead generation is the task of prospecting new customers. These prospects can be highly or passively interested. Consumers become leads when they show strong interest in a product or service. Lead generation can be done in any communication format. The principle challenge is making people want to buy.
Getting people to pull their wallets out is not always easy. The problem primarily is the lack of confidence in the product or company. A prospector must understand the product. They must know it’s faults and benefits. They must also be knowledgeable about competitor offerings and be able to draw contrast. And they must be able to clearly communicate this to the consumer.
